Styles & Patterns

Crafting identity — styles set how strongly perks land, patterns set which perks your gear carries.

What is Crafting Identity?

Every crafted or dropped piece of equipment can carry a style and a pattern. Together they are the item's crafting identity — both a cosmetic flourish and a functional bonus. The style is the decoration technique and its tier decides how strongly the perks land; the pattern is the depicted theme and decides which perks roll. They steer the random perks only — base stats still come from the material and dust coating.

Style — magnitude
The decoration technique. Its tier (T1-T6) sets how strongly the paired pattern's perks land.
Pattern — theme
The depicted theme. It picks which perk family the random affixes are pulled toward.
Styles and patterns are loot-only — they drop rarely from monsters, themed by monster type, and are never sold by vendors. A fully-styled item is a genuine mark of effort.

Styles — Decoration Techniques

19 techniques across five families. A higher tier rolls stronger perks; the style family should match the item's base material for the full effect.

Tiers run T1 to T6. The style and the item's rarity together set the strength bracket — the lower of the two caps how strongly the pattern's perks land, so high-tier styles shine on high-rarity gear.

Patterns — Depicted Themes

27 themes, each granting a fixed trio of perks. The pattern biases the random affix roll toward its theme — pick the theme that matches your build.

How It Works Together

The style sets the magnitude, the pattern sets the theme. Apply both and the item earns a named identity that shows right on its tooltip.

Pick a Style
Tier and matching family decide how strong the perks roll.
Pick a Pattern
The theme decides which perk trio the item pulls toward.
Named Identity
Style × pattern yields the item's themed name and perk set.
Example
Dragon pattern + Inlay style → an Inlaid Dragon weapon
The Dragon pattern biases perks toward Strength, Max Damage and Damage Reflection, while the T4 Inlay style makes those perks land hard. The identity is drop-only and shown on the item.
