Beginner Guide

New here? This is your starting point — a step-by-step path from your very first fight to confidently playing every system in CombaTON.

Welcome to CombaTON

CombaTON is a free-to-play idle MMORPG that runs entirely inside Telegram — open @CombaTONbot, tap Start, and you are playing. No download, no separate account, no wallet required to begin. Combat is turn-based and tactical, inspired by the classic browser RPGs БК and Combats. This guide walks a brand-new player from level 1 all the way to confidently using every system in the game.

Your First Hour, Step by Step

Work down this list in order. Each step is a system you'll use for the rest of the game — tap the link in each card to dive into the full guide.

1
1. Choose your class

Pick one of 7 classes — Warrior, Paladin, Barbarian, Mage, Cleric, Rogue and more — each with its own playstyle. Your power comes from 6 core stats: STR (Strength), AGI (Agility), INT (Intuition), END (Endurance), INTE (Intellect) and WIS (Wisdom). Watch out: INT and INTE are different stats — INT is Intuition (perception), INTE is Intellect (mana and spell power).

2
2. Learn to fight

Combat is turn-based with initiative rolls and a 5-zone attack/block system: each turn you choose which body zone to strike and which to defend. Head out into the open world and fight monsters to level up, earn loot and learn the rhythm of reading your opponent's defense.

3
3. Gear up & read your Gear Score

There are 14 equipment slots and 6 rarity tiers — Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary and Mythic. Equip what you loot, and keep an eye on your Gear Score (GS): it's a single number summarizing your power, and it gates which dungeons and arena brackets you can enter.

4
4. Farm while you're away

AutoFarm is the idle backbone of progression. Send your character on an offline session — 1 to 4 hours depending on your premium tier — and it fights smart-targeted mobs, drinks potions, auto-loots and auto-sells — so you keep earning even when the app is closed. Set it before you log off and collect the rewards next time you return.

5
5. Craft and gather

Gather resources from the world and follow recipes to craft your own gear. Styles and patterns give crafted equipment its identity and bonus perks — the chain runs resources → recipes → finished items. Crafting is the most reliable way to fill gaps your loot won't cover.

6
6. Sell your loot

Don't hoard junk. The Smuggler is the only NPC that buys gear and raw resources, paying in CBT — your default outlet for loot you'll never use. Prefer to set your own price on stacks of raw materials? Trade them player-to-player on the DEX resource marketplace instead.

7
7. Team up and compete

When you're ready for a challenge, form a party to clear dungeons, join server-wide world boss fights, and queue for the PvP arena (2v2, 3v3, 5v5 and 1v1). The Daily Glory loop layered on top of ranked PvP pays out daily and weekly rewards just for showing up and winning.

8
8. Join a guild

A guild is your home base for the long game: a shared guild bank, guild talents, guild wars, and Telegram-integrated groups and forum topics. Joining one early gives you teammates for dungeons and bosses plus access to perks you can't get solo.

The Economy in One Minute

There is a single currency: CBT. Gold is just a display unit for small amounts — 1 CBT equals 100 gold, so you'll see both, but they're the same money. Alongside CBT you earn Activity Points (AP) by playing, and your AP determines your share of the capped weekly CBT pool — so staying active is literally how you earn.

CBT is the currency
One currency for everything — earned by selling loot, spent on upgrades, and shared from the weekly pool.
Gold = display unit
Small sums show as gold for flavor. 1 CBT = 100 gold; it's the same money, just a smaller denomination.
Activity Points
Earned by playing. Your AP sets your slice of the weekly CBT pool — active players earn more.

Beginner Tips: Do's & Don'ts

Don't blindly fence everything — gear with gems or a crafting style you want is often worth salvaging yourself for the materials instead.
Always start an AutoFarm session before you log off. Idle time is free progress — wasting it is the most common beginner mistake.
Match your Gear Score to a dungeon's tier before queuing. Walking into content above your GS gets your party wiped fast.
Your first ranked PvP win each day pays Daily Glory rewards — grab it even if you're not chasing the ladder.
Spend a little time playing every day. Activity Points decide your share of the weekly CBT pool, so consistency beats binging.
Don't agonize over your class pick — every class is viable, and you can always roll a second character to try another playstyle.
